Nathan and his family, visiting from Nebraska, were spending time with friends near the charming mountain town of Nederland. His mother envisioned senior portraits that embraced the beauty of Colorado’s fall—rich with warm, autumnal hues and the natural textures of the season.

To make the most of the vibrant foliage and favorable weather, we scheduled an early morning session. The soft, golden light 1-2 hours after sunrise offered a peaceful and picturesque setting, though, as is often the case in the mountains during fall, the air carried a crisp chill. Despite the brisk start, the setting was nothing short of magical—quiet, colorful, and full of the seasonal beauty his mom had hoped for. It all came together to create a session that felt both intimate and distinctly Colorado.
